Minimum Necessary Parts:
Cooler Core, Water Pump, Heat Exchanger Radiator, Hoses, Clamps, Fuse tap, relay, switch, overflow hose and grommet, electical wire.
The installation that I recommend is very simple.
1. Attach Fittings to heat exchanger. 5/8″ goes on top and 3/4″ goes on the bottom.
2. Attach Radiator with support brackets. Two brackets attach to the front bumper beam and one bracket on each side of the radiator. The side bracket attache to the existing AC support or you can drill new holes if you preffer. These mounting locations have proven to be very strong and eliminate any possibility of damaging your expensive AC radiator.
3. The Rule water pump is very light and does not need any support brackets. Attach the short 3/4″ hose to the lower radiator fitting then attach the lower intake on the pump to this hose. Use the elbow provided with the pump.
4. Arrange pump so that its exit port faces as shown on Diagram 2.
5. Wire the pump the following way:
- Attach the black wire to a nearby ground source or use battery Posts as shown on diagram 1.
- Attach the possitive wire using a relay switch or use a direct connection using a fuse tap to the vechicle’s power window fuse. Do not use the fuse tap procedure for Bosh Pumps. Their amperage is high and a relay installation is highly recommended.
- Use a switch between the pump and the fuse tap to allow you to turn off the pump when necessary and maintenance.
- The use of a relay is the safest way. Please consult a mechanic for proper install of a relay switch.
