Audi Pump Harness and Pump Pinout for Audi: 3.0T, 4.0T, and SQ5

This is a pinout guide of the car’s harness and its respective use/wire colors. Please report any errors or differences you may find. This information is needed when upgrading pumps to Pierburg CWA100-3 and CWA150. It is normal to receive a SOFT CODE error when using diagnosis tools (about the pump). This does not affect vehicle performance or create a check engine light.
Check engine lights are not normal and are not expected from this upgrade. When using diagnosis tools, only the hidden softcode about the pump is normal.

For the CWA150, the fuse for the water pump is located on the fuse box next to the ECU. Under the hood, near the wipers firewall plastic cover.

Attention: Experimental Product!
We offer this product at the request of some customers, but it is without a 100% guarantee for working on every car.
It seems to work fine on some cars. And on others, it does not .. quite. (see the explanation below)

Explanation:
The CWA pumps are speed-controlled by a signal from the car’s ECU.
Some vehicles seem to be compatible with the CWA100-3, but others seem to be not.
In other words: In some vehicles, speed control works, and in others, the pump is always running at full speed.

Unfortunately, we are no Audi experts and can not say for which models that is the case. As more information is discovered or provided, we will attempt to keep this document updated.

But if the new pump (with our adapter) does not start at all, you can also run it at full speed all the time by snipping the adapter signal cable (gray/red).
With this, the CWA100-3 or CWA150 will run at full speed as soon as it gets power.
