At the point of the design and taking to market, no other heat exchangers in the market were designed this way. This design allows for water to stay on the cooling stage longer and dissipate heat longer than other normal single and dual-pass systems.

Please Note:
- Vehicles equipped with a factory dynamic steering cooler must relocate this loop cooler. We recommend purchasing the Compact Fluid Cooler to move this steering cooling system. The stock factory dynamic steering cooler is visible through the top of the grill.
- Vehicles other than the B8/B8.5 S4 may not be able to utilize the provided air diverter plates due to fitment.

Great heat exchanger for my 2010 S4. Install was easier than expected. Installed perfect with supplied parts. No modifications or “riggin” needed. Everything connects right, sits right and flows right. Just an eye for perfection and simple measurements.

Review of high capacity 4.0T heat exchanger
After doing back to back 10.4 runs with the Merc V1 Hx the brick was barely warm. The next round of mods will be fairly serious so I asked GROK about cooling upgrades and after perusing a few hundred sources GROK concluded that the Merc Racing high capacity heat exchanger “is widely regarded as the best overall for the 4.0T platform in terms of performance, capacity, fitment and value”, so I bought one.
